Our School
We were founded in 1973 and in June 2023 we turned 50 years old.
We have staff members that have been with us for many years, many belonging to the same family that started with us.
We are registered with the Education Department and comply with all the specifications for the number of children, space in classrooms, toilet facilities, health and safety rules, playground specifications, programmes and staff recommendations.
How we work
Classes
We take children from the age of 4 months up to 5 years old (Garde RR).
Each Class Group has their own Teacher as well as a teacher’s assistant. The ratio of teacher to child is excellent and so we can monitor each child individually.
Holidays
We do not close over the school holidays throughout the year and there is also no extra charge for holiday care.
We do close for 3 weeks over the December Christmas Holiday's to allow our staff to rest well before the New Year begins.
Fees
Our fees are very competitive, and we do not have hidden costs, we give everything to you in black and white upon enrolment.
Our fees include snacks, lunch and drinks as well as holiday care to fulltime children. Our School fees are on a 12-month structure
Meals
All meals are supplied by the school. Our Menu was compiled for us by a dietician and has been sent to the Health Board in Pretoria which has been approved.
Daily Routine
We run on a General Daily Programme that ensures all our children build a solid foundation of routine at our school. All activities are designed to be fun, build self-confidence and self esteem.
Extra Murals
We have Gymnastics, Playball, Swimming and Build-em-Brix as extra-murals. The instructors are all qualified in their field and come to the school for the activities.

For a child to grow to their full potential and to achieve in all spheres they need the school, the parent and the child to work together. We at Jean's Playglen make sure the parent is involed in the school and child all year round.
